Description

The Chris King® Bottom Bracket External Cup Tool is anodized aluminum and features a 3/8" socket drive. Ahigh-quality torque wrench is recommended for installation. The spline interface on the reverse side perfectly matches the Chris King® Bottom Bracket cups to ensure a secure fit during installation while preventing damage to the finish of the bracket.

For use with Chris King Threadfit T47 30i and 24i Bottom Brackets.

    6000: Bearing ID: 10mm / OD: 26mm / Width: 8mm
    6200: Bearing ID: 10mm / OD: 30mm / Width: 9mm
    6800: Bearing ID: 10mm / OD: 19mm / Width: 5mm
    6900: Bearing ID: 10mm / OD: 22mm / Width: 6mm

    Insert the extractor into the bearing, tighten one side with an Allen key, and the collet expands to grip the inside of the bearing

    Tap the extractor out with a punch

    We all know how messy the bottom bracket situation is for modern bikes. We have you covered for almost all of your modern bottom bracket tool needs though. The BB Common was a staple of bottom bracket tools before things got complicated by oversized spindles and press fit. These start as a solid aluminum billet and get precision machined for a nice clean fit. They use a 3/8" square drive for use with your favorite ratchet or torque wrench. We even engrave the default torque spec on them so you don't have to look it up anymore. Starting in 2020 we revised these to be chamferless in an effort to make them work better with extremely thin centerlock lockrings.

    Specs: A=46-46.9mm B=42.3mm

    While most other manufactures cast or forge their bottom bracket tools we machine ours. Forging is indeed stronger but it lacks the precision that machining gives you. Whenever you're dealing with anodized surfaces great care needs to be taken to keep those surfaces from getting marred, gouged and striped out. That can be nearly impossible with some spanner style tools and difficult with other loose fitting sockets.

    The most unique feature about this tool is the inner nub, that nub in the center of the tool is the same size as the crank spindle. What this does is give you a second point of contact that keeps the tool from camming off of the part. when trying to remove stubborn cups.

    This dual sided socket is designed to work with the new Shimano DA-9000/XTR-BB93 bottom bracket as well 6800 Ultegra and 5800 105 11spd groups (BBR-60).
