The Thomson Covert Black Dropper includes a new shifter oriented remote lever for easy operation. The cartridge-based system is designed to have the longest service life in the industry. If repair is needed it’s fast, affordable, and simple. Every part that makes up the Covert dropper is carefully chosen and of the highest grade quality available. Custom made Norglide bearing bushings, custom made Trelleborg O-Rings and seals, Thomson saddle clamps and fasteners, and Motul Oil. The Thomson Covert Black Dropper is hands down the industry standard.

Thomson Cyclocross 42x31.8 Carbon
Clipon compatible keep all accessory clamps inside the area marked on the bar as safe for clamping. 90mm total safe clamp area available.
For Cyclocross we present the carbon CX bar. The natural transition from your Thomson road bar for the ‘cross season. Twin flats on the bottom of the bar allow taping your housing to create a completely round bar when wrapped. Top profile is round and as wide as possible. This allows auxiliary brake levers to be safely used and still leaves lots of room for your hands.
Layup uses 3 different fiber types with different tensile strengths and tensile modulus, including High Strength carbon fiber. This helps allocate stiffness and flex where needed.
All carbon fiber is produced by Toray and uses tailor made Nano Epoxy Resin for very high impact resistance. Toray is the main supplier of carbon fiber for Boeing and Airbus.
Both the Road and Cross bar are made in one piece, not three pieces co-molded and glued together.
Bars are molded over an EPS mandrel to avoid wrinkles inside the layup during molding. Most other bars are molded over inflatable nylon bladders.
Reach 78.5mm. Drop is proportional.

800mm wide, 20mm of rise, 9° of backsweep and 5° of upsweep. Built using 7050 Aluminum alloy for strength and long life. 65mm wide clamping area to fit our Direct Mount stem, giving you the most torsional stiffness of any bar/stem combination. 31.8 center section is absolutely straight over a width of 90mm. The long straight section in the middle reduces stress concentrations, especially when using wide Direct Mount stems
Bar is butted and tapered in many steps for optimal fatigue life. Ends of the bar are thickened from 1.4 to 1.6mm to resist damage from impacts and contact with the ground.
Bar is produced by advanced CNC bending to avoid the need for hand grinding. Almost all other bars are manually bent and bends are ground to appear smooth. CNC bending ensures very consistent wall thickness and close tolerances, especially in tapered sections. This keeps weight low and fatigue life high.

Side mount of actuation mechanism means we can keep all the critical dimensions of the Thomson Elite cradle, bolt and clamp geometry. One piece forged inner post for strength and reliability, no joint to loosen and fail. Actuation is by cam so rider gets smooth, variable speed and height without resorting to a complicated, damage prone hydraulic actuator; no bleeding required.

The Thomson BMX stem is machined from 7000 series aluminum. The stem is one-piece design with no welds or joints.
The 50mm wide clamp length and patented undercut around the handlebar combine to grip the handlebar more securely. Thomson’s “two clamps in one” design provides a stiff ride with minimal flexing or squeaking.
